'A love of Life'

Updated: May 18, 2020

Biophilia literally means ‘A Love Of Life’ and we love to bring nature into our interiors and lives.

Plants

It’s well known that plants can benefit our well being and productivity hugely. With Summer on it's was it’s the perfect time to jump feet first into the biophilia trend, plants are a great start. If you don’t have much space for large house plants, why not try some trailing plants hanging from the ceiling or popped on a shelf?

Natural light

If you’re lucky enough to have light flooding into your home you’re already on to a winner! However, don’t despair if you don’t, mirrors can be your new best friend! As well as tricking your eye into thinking that the room is bigger than it is, mirrors will bounce the light into those dingy corners. (And make it look as though you’ve twice as many of those super important house plants!)

Natural materials

Incorporating materials such as wood, stone, metal and natural textiles into your interior scheme creates a soft, calming vibe. Layer up your soft furnishings and don’t be afraid to mix textures as this creates a feeling of depth.

Not all our homes have wooden floors and natural materials on show but we can use these materials as statement pieces. Lighting furniture and artwork can complement the biophilic trend.

Bring nature into your table display! We love dressing tables, they can be so much fun and really make a statement at any dinner party.

With Spring on the horizon it’s the perfect time to freshen up your home with this botanical trend.
